Progress Report

After my initial research, I have so far decided that I still want to continue with the genre of Pop/Chart music. As well as this, I am thinking about linking my magazine into the theme of festivals too as I have some images that would be useful and I could write some articles speaking from first hand festival experience. I think festivals are a good element to add to my print because majority of festivals include Pop artists or artists that are frequently in the charts and makes the magazine more interesting. Since starting my research I have noticed how magazine conventions are used and which conventions are most popular. Researching into existing pop genre magazines has been very helpful as it has given me ideas on how to set my print out and what sort of colour contrasts I should include. Analysing another students work enabled me to develop my idea's more and to see if I was heading in the right direction. I am happy with my research but looking at another student's blog has made me realise how important presentation of work is, therefore I am going to make sure the presentation of my future tasks is as best as possible. I am hoping my final print piece will come across as fun and interesting. In order to do this I need to continue researching into previous articles in magazines so I can emulate them.
